Smart Clinics are patient centered clinics that do Family Medicine and Pediatrics. Our 2 clinics are located in Sterling Drug Store Pharmacies in Fairmont and Austin Minnesota. Our Fairmont clinic opened in April of 2007 and due to its success we were encouraged to open our Austin Clinic in June of 2009. We have open access scheduling and welcome same day appointments and walk-ins. We see our patients when they feel they need to be seen and we find this works well for both our patients and practice.
Smart Clinics do both urgent care and full range family and pediatric practice.
We do well adult exams, including female annual exams. We also provide well child exams with routine immunizations and. Exams can be done at any time, including our later hours or on the weekends. In this way we provide routine care at times that are not routine for those services. We understand working families and the need for services during non-working hours. We can evaluate and treat minor injuries, lacerations and through our reference lab, Quest Diagnostics, we can draw almost any lab that may be required for care. We also manage chronic diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, and High Cholesterol. If there are conditions outside the scope of our clinic, we can refer to whichever specialist that our patients prefer.
In our care of patients, we utilize Medical Record Protocol sheets that allow our providers to follow routine standards for evaluation and treatment of diseases. Through researched preventative care guidelines and national guidelines, the Protocol sheets assure that we ask proper questions for the conditions we are seeing, and help standardize the care received. Protocol sheets also allow for the individualization of evaluation and treatment that each unique patient encounter demands. In the near future we will be transitioning to an Electronic Medical Records system that will continue to help improve our patient care. It will also help us with space needs and allows us to become more efficient so we can continue to provide the highest level of patient care.
